Here are some places that you should visit. Not that we are forcing you to. But it would be better for all of us if you did.
For all things sample, loop and sound design related, check out The Electronic Garden!!! You will be glad you did!!
Jorgen Aase is the brilliant mind behind Massiva, a budget-priced sequencer with high-dollar capabilities, and he also finds time to design some of the most inspirational plug-in synthesizers available. Some of which are free, all of which are priceless. We use Jorgen's stuff every day. So much so, we ought to make Jorgen a member of The Prayer Capsule.
LinPlug create software synthesizers and drum machines that make the walls of our studio tremble, and cause the floors to crack and burst like big, aural blisters. If you do not go to them IMMEDIATELY and purchase their fabulous Delta III Matrix Synthesizer, I will personally come round to your house and make fun of your socks. I am nothing without my CronoX.
Muon Software are the devilish minds behind Tau Pro. Tau Pro is simply the biggest, baddest bass synth on the planet. It will reach out a shiny, armor-plated fist, and punch a fiery hole right through your chest. Don't say you weren't warned. While you are at it, check out the superb Electron synthesizer, too.
If you are an independent musician and you need ideas on how to market yourself, then you simply MUST have the Indie Bible. It is quite simply INVALUABLE!

If you are a user of such modular softsynths as Reaktor, Infinity, or SynC Modular, you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not check out the prefab ensembles for these synths from DASH Synthesis. These synths are superb creations, and cost a fraction of adding a new plug-in to your setup.
Whether you need samples for your software sampler, or presets for some of the best plug-ins on the market, you will find sounds that will inspire your art at Dashsounds. Musiclab produce a variety of wonderful MIDI products aimed at giving the composer a wealth of resources from which he or she can draw. Do you need the perfect acoustic guitar rhythm. but it's 3 AM, and you can't call the guitarist in? Rhythm N Chords will help! How about drum tracks that pulse with life and energy? Slicy Drummer comes through. Is that Ant playing that lovely acoustic guitar, or has Scot got his Musiclab plug in open again
A recording label of exceptional quality with more than exceptional artists.
More than a musical outfit; an experience.
A company who creates a software synthesizer called The Tassman, whose sounds are so blindingly original, they could peel the paint off of your posterior, throw planets out of their orbit, and cause new and intelligent life forms to erupt fully grown from the spores under your arms. Look for tutorials on the Home Recording Tips page
RGC makes some of the best sounding synth plug-ins on this or any other planet (we know, we're Cosmonaughts, after all!), and their effects are literally brilliant. Lots of goodies (free and commercial) at their site. Go. Now

Zero X
Zero-X are the folks behind "BeatCreator", a standalone loop-editor, rhythm-rearranger, and general beat-thrasher. They also produce "Seamless looper", an incredible time-saving automatic sample-looper. Both of these applications are available for ridiculously low prices. Put that copy of Sound Forge down, Junior! You need Seamless Looper!
